Richard Benton is a nutritionist and he says that fast food can be healthy food. ‘Most fast food restaurants have healthy choices like salads and lean chicken sandwiches,’ he says. ‘Fast food is OK as long as you don’t eat too much of it.’
People who do eat too much fast food can have health problems. In the United States, 300,000 people a year die from illnesses to obesity. Twenty per cent of children in the United States are overweight. The problem has spread as Western fast food has become popular in the countries like China, India and Japan. Five to ten per cent of Chinese children are now overweight.

Last summer some students of our group went to Siberia in order to work at a new plant producing equipment for mechanical and chemical processing of timber. But from July 15 till the end of August my friends and I worked on a big collective farm not far from our city.
The farm is rather rich. It has large areas under field crops, vegetables and fruit trees. To improve soil fertility and to increase the yields the farmers use fertilizers. The fertilizers to be applied are produced at a big chemical plant situated not far from the farm. Many agricultural processes are mechanized and the most modern farm machinery is used both for crop cultivation and for livestock breeding.
