For use in medical instruments, factory automation and industrial-use endoscopes, the ultra-miniature color camera includes a camera head the size of a person’s little finger, and employs a digital process. Adopting an internal and external synchronous system, the camera links the head section and control unit through a dedicated cable. It uses a built-in, 330,000-pixel, 1/3-inch CCD with a chip-on-lens structure, and this plus the built-in digital processor results in excellent image quality. The horizontal resolution shows 430 TV lines, the sensitivity reaches 15 lux, and the ratio stands at 46 dB.

The ЕАС1 field computer was designed to be used in harsh environments. It is waterproof, sand and dustproof and will withstand a 2-metre drop onto a hard surface. It operates in a wide temperature range of -20˚C to +60˚C (- 4˚А to +140˚F). It can be carried in the bend of one arm; the other arm is left free to operate the system with either the pen or keyboard. The field computer gives users a choice of the best data entry methods, both pen-based and key-board. Pen input is the fastest and most intuitive way of accessing software functions and selecting attribute choices in the field. The standard model supports a maximum resolution of 600 dpi (non-interpolated) and generates image data in composite colour, monochrome and black-and-white. The scanner precisely positions a RGB line camera segment by segment across the rotating drum. A patented charging technology for all kinds of batteries shortens battery charge times, generates no heat while charging, and extends the battery life 10-fold, to as many as 5,000 charge and discharge cycles. With nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries, the charging time drops 90 per cent or more. The system will charge batteries up to 110 per cent of their manufacturer-rated (nominal) capacities, and restores memory-impaired batteries to 98 per cent of their former capacities. The system is easier on batteries than slow- and fast-charging methods, with over-charge and over-heat batteries by force-feeding current. Using a custom IC, the battery chargers read the electrochemical potential of a battery under charge, and determines its internal condition. They change the flow of current during millisecond-scale periods.
